Transfers to and from Ankara Esenboga Airport
The Turkish Government and J. C. White and Westinghouse Electric International Corporation, signed a agreement in 1947 and decided a international airport was needed in Ankara. The construction commenced in 1951, and was completed in 1955 by Westinghouse Electric International Corporation. Ankara Esenboga Airport was the second fully-equipped international airport in Turkey in that time period.
Technological developments and an increase in numbers of passengers over time, the airport was subject to constant upgrades and expansions.
